spring shopping for a bag lady
With the weather slowly warming up here in Vancity, it's time to peruse on-line shopping sites for some new additions to my bag collection. So far, colourful purses, especially in shades of aqua, turquoise and sea-foam green have really caught my eye. So much better than your basic black option, it's a great accessory to invest in and still be on trend with the season's colours. Pinks, canary yellows and juicy orange hues are great spring colours while bright greens, papaya, coral and turquoise are great summery colours are a wonderful addition to any outfit. Also, who doesn't like a little bit of obnoxious neon in their accessories?

MJ by Marc Jacobs Natasha Petal to the Metal shoulder bag is in a great punchy pink colour. |

Burberry Prorsum raffia-effect and leather wristlet in turquoise. Love the detailing on this clutch. |

Proenza Schouler PS1 large leather satchel in papaya. This is a fabulous spring colour but could also work all year round when you want some colour to brighten up a drab all-black outfit. |

Reed Krakoff mini Atlantique leather tote. This designer has just recently caught my eye, and I like what I'm seeing so far. |

The Cambridge Fluoro Satchel in green. LOVE it! |

Rebecca Minkoff mini Mac bag in highlighter yellow. Something this small can still pack a punch in such a bright, in-your-face colour. |
not too long...
Before I'm back in blogging mode. I just recently moved out (yay me!) and have yet to get internet in my new place. But, once my shiny new MacBook arrives (just ordered it two days ago) and I find the nearest cafe, coffee shop, or fast food restaurant with free wifi, this blog will be updated on a regular basis... hopefully. For now, thanks for being so patient with me!

I think her name is Isabella? She lurks around a pasta store on Commercial Drive and you can see her scouting around the aisles between the jars of canned food and pasta sauces. |

the illuminati have taken over downtown
I just randomly came across this event while I was making my shopping rounds downtown and lucky for me, I happened to have my camera with me (for once!) and took some pictures of Yaletown being taken over by lights. It was a fun event that showcased a lot of cars (?!) and light technology.
Light show using blocks of ice and each sculpture changed into a rainbow of colours and it slowly melted. |
The side of the building was used as a platform for a light video game, where the objects fell from the corner and made their way down, around the windows, like watching a pinball machine. |
Adding another dimension to Illuminate Yaletown event was a fire dance show where participants displayed their talent for not being burned alive using hula hoops lit up in flames and other props. |
Random decked out bus that kids used as a playground. |
Disco lights on the street made for a trippy walk. |
The side of the building used as a backdrop for light graffiti. I thought this was brilliant and a lot of fun. |
Mini coopers lit up and on display. |
I came across this while waiting at the bus stop. Sponsored by MADD. Don't lose your head people. |
